To report an emergency repair:

Gas safety advice

If you smell gas, or suspect a gas or carbon monoxide leak, please phone the National Gas Emergency Helpline on0800 111 999.

You should also:

  • Switch off all your gas appliances

  • Open all doors and windows to ventilate your home

  • Turn off the gas supply at the mains (there’s usually a large lever next to the gas meter)

  • Evacuate the property immediately and wait for advice from the emergency services.

Fire safety advice

Alert everyone in your home that there is an emergency. Leave quickly, closing doors behind you. Follow the evacuation plan of the building and exit at the nearest fire exit.

If there is smoke, crawl along the floor where the air will be clearer. Never use the lift in the event of a fire.

Once you’re safely outside, phone 999 for the fire brigade.
